Dear VCC Men’s Team Players,

The VCC Board, in collaboration with the Youth Committee, is calling on the full support of all Men's players to help nurture and train the next generation of cricketers in our club.

As part of our commitment to youth development, it is now compulsory for every Men's team player to contribute at least one day this season to support Youth Outdoor Training sessions.

Youth Training Schedule:

• U15 Training: Wednesdays & Fridays, 18:00 – 20:00

• U10 Training: Wednesdays & Fridays, 18:00 – 19:00
  
  

To ensure quality training, we require at least 3 trainers each day to assist our main youth coaches.

The VCC Youth Committee will prepare a training roster in consultation with Krishna, based on player availability.

To help coordinate this smoothly and effectively, Coach Krishna will work directly with the captains of all Men’s teams to ensure this message is communicated clearly, and the planning and participation are carried out in an organised manner.

Important:

If you're unable to attend on your assigned day due to a valid reason, it is your responsibility to find a suitable replacement from within the Men's teams.

This initiative is fully endorsed by the VCC Board and is a vital step in building a stronger, more united club. Your time, effort, and encouragement will have a lasting impact on our youth.

The Selection Framework for the 2024 competitve season is hereby posted on our Svenskalag platform.

Hello All,

Excited to announce that VCC Lightning will be touring Umeå on the weekend of June 1 and 2, to play one T40 and one T20 (both Allsvenskan divisions). With Umeå being approx. a 10 hour drive we will have to plan the transport and team selection in advance.

Selection invites for the player availabilities are out now. The matches can also be found in the Svenskalag calendar.

Note that the deadline to show availability is this Sunday 19th May, 23:00.
Kindly sign-up as soon as possible to provide us ample time to plan the trip.

The travelling squad will consist of 12 players. Those who receive the invite are urged to sign-up regardless of which team they regularly play with. This is to make sure we have enough travelling players in case some regular Lightning members are unable to travel to Umeå.

Travel and Accommodation

The team will travel in a total of 3 cars, leaving from Västerås on Friday the 31st of May. The journey back towards Västerås will begin immediately after the T20 on Sunday. Therefore, we expect to be back home late Sunday evening.

We are still looking up different options for accommodation for Friday and Saturday nights. The approximate cost of fuel and accommodation per head is expected to land between 2000-2500 SEK. The selected players shall themselves sponsor the finances of the Umeå tour.
