🏏 Intra-VCC Cricket Tournament 2025 – Let the Games Begin!

Dear Team,

We are thrilled to officially kick off the Intra-VCC Cricket Tournament 2025! After reviewing player availability, we’re moving forward with a Best-of-3 Bilateral Series to be held on the weekend of 26th and 27th July 2025.

This promises to be a weekend of high-octane cricket, team spirit, and plenty of memorable moments. 🥳

📅 Match Schedule

Match 1: Saturday, 26th July | 10:00 – 14:00
Match 2: Saturday, 26th July | 14:30 – 18:30
Match 3: Sunday, 27th July | 10:00 – 14:00

🏆 Prize Distribution

Trophies and awards will be presented at the end of the tournament. Bring your A-game — the glory awaits! 🏅

🍽️ Lunch

A delicious lunch will be provided on Sunday, 27th July, for all participants. Come hungry!

📜 Rules & Guidelines

To ensure a smooth, fair, and enjoyable experience for everyone:

🏏 Match Format:

20 overs per side (unless mutually adjusted before the match)
Standard cricket rules apply (LBW, wides, no-balls, etc.)

👥 Team Composition:

Balanced teams will be formed considering skills and roles
Final teams will be announced before the first match by the designated selectors

⏱️ Punctuality:

Arrive at least 30 minutes before your match
We’ll start on time — let’s respect everyone’s schedule

🔎 Umpiring & Scoring:

Neutral umpires from non-playing members
Scoring will be digital or manual by designated scorers

🤝 Spirit of the Game:

Respect all players, umpires, and the game itself
Compete hard, but play fair and have fun

🌧️ Weather Plan:

In case of rain, matches may be shortened or rescheduled as needed

*Updated Rules*

General Rules

1. Tournament follows SCF playing conditions and MCC laws. In places where our tournament rules overlap SCF playing conditions, our tournament rules will take precedence.

2. Umpire's decision will be final and the captains have the responsibility to uphold the discipline and the spirit of the game.

3. When there is a tie, team with less extras will be the winner. No super over.

4. Not more than 11 players on the field for fielding. Batting can last as long as the overs are completed or the batters list are exhausted.

5. Captains must ensure that all the playing members of the respective teams are available before the toss and throughout the match. 5 penalty runs (for every leaving player) will be imposed on the team whose players choose to leave before the match ends.

Time Rules

Teams Arrival
1. Teams must be present at the ground 30min before the scheduled start.
2. Toss should take place 15min before the scheduled start.

Match Duration and Breaks

1. Each innings should not exceed 80minutes ( including a 5minutes break after 10overs, which is optional)

2. After Every 5 overs the bowling ends should change.

3. Maximum of 10minutes break between the first and second innings.

You’re warmly invited to witness the grand final between Strikers and Smashers, happening tomorrow (Sunday)!

🕘 Match starts sharp at 9:00 AM
We plan to begin early to beat the heat, so please arrive on time to catch the action from the first ball!

🍽️ Lunch will be served during the innings break, and we welcome you to bring along your families to enjoy the match and the meal together.

🎖️ After the match, we will have a felicitation ceremony to appreciate the efforts of players, umpires, and all who contributed to making this mini-series a great success.

⚠️ Kindly note: The ground is booked for tape ball matches from 3:00 PM, so let’s ensure we wrap everything up by then.

To all the players – thank you for your energy, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship on the field. You brought the spirit of the game alive and made every match exciting to watch.

To our captains – your leadership, fairness, and encouragement, especially towards our young and upcoming players, truly reflected the values we stand for as a club.
