U15 VCC team Off to a Fresh Start - 2025

After a long wait, the U15 VCC cricket team finally returned to outdoor cricket with a friendly T20 match against the Ludvika U15 team. Both sides were full of eager and energetic players, excited to get back on the field.

The match faced a slight hurdle at the beginning, as continuous drizzling created uncertain conditions. However, thanks to the efforts of the organisers, who quickly built a shelter for the players and safeguard their kits. Also ensured the pitch and outfield were safe to play, the game proceeded with only a delayed start and no reduction in overs.

VCC was put in to bat first and delivered an outstanding performance. Contributions came from all batters, resulting in a massive total of 180 runs. The team captain Sumanth, led by example, showcasing great skill and composure to score a solid half-century.

But it wasn’t just the batting unit that shone. The VCC bowlers, especially the lead bowlers, took control early and put the opposition under pressure from the outset. The smart rotation by the captain, including the use of part-time and debut bowlers, paid off well. The part-time and debutante were impressed by taking many wickets in the second half of second innings and helping secure a strong finish to the game.

The energy and enthusiasm in the fielding was equally thrilling to watch. A special mention goes to Deekshitha, who delivered a remarkable performance by taking three catches and contributing to two run-outs—playing a crucial role in VCC’s dominant victory.

All in all, it was a fantastic all-round performance and a confident start to the outdoor season for the VCC U15 team. Thanks to LCF!
